From January 2018, AAT will be offering a refreshed suite of Level 1 qualifications.
These qualifications will sit under the new banner of AAT Access qualifications, alongside their Foundation, Advanced and Professional Accounting and Bookkeeping qualifications. These will be shorter, more focused qualifications to help learners take their first steps with AAT.
The current Level 1 qualifications, listed below, will be withdrawn and closed to new registrations from the end of 2017.
- Level 1 Award in Accounting (Access)
- Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping
- Level 1 Award in Computerised Accounting
- Level 1 Certificate in Accounting
Due to low demand, the Level 1 Certificate in Accounting will not be replaced. Students currently studying this qualification should be encouraged to complete it as soon as possible, ahead of the 30 September 2018 deadline.
The new AAT Access qualifications will open for registrations on 8 January 2018 and have been designed to meet the specific needs of a Level 1 learner.
- AAT Access Award in Bookkeeping qualification
- AAT Access Award in Accounting Software qualification
- AAT Access Award in Business Skills qualification
Each qualification will have one assessment.
