We are currently seeking an experienced Receptionist to join our friendly team in our community clinic on an “as required/ad-hoc” basis, primarily to cover a variety of daytime shifts, plus occasional shifts during the evening, as required.
We are looking for someone who has their own transport and ideally has a background in a clinical environment, with a “can do” attitude and is both efficient and professional, with an outgoing personality.

Main Purpose
The Clinic Receptionist’s job is to answer the College switchboard, ensure the smooth running of the Student and Private Chiropractic Clinics, to be the main point of contact for external callers and visitors and to provide administrative support on an ad hoc basis.
Principal Tasks
1. Welcome patients and deal with them efficiently.
This includes making appointments, answering queries and incoming telephone calls.
Contact with patients and students who do not attend clinics
Being responsible for the clinic float and petty cash.
2. Maintain the electronic Patient Record filing system
Ensure that all correspondence to GPs is sent promptly.
Ensure the Patient record system is kept up to date.
3. Welcome visitors to the College
This includes ensuring visitors receive a professional impression of the College.
Ensure that visitors sign the Visitors Book.
4. Liaise with the Clinic Manager & Head Receptionist on matters relating to clinic organisation.
5. Deal with mail when necessary.
Opening post, booking in it and distributing it to the relevant person as appropriate
Completing the postal system book, franking and posting
6. Maintain utmost confidentiality with regard to Clinic matters and correspondence opened in Reception.
General Tasks
1. Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy reception/patient waiting area.
2. Provide secretarial and general support to the Administration functions, as required.
3. Maintain Patient Confidentiality
Be aware of the patient’s right to confidentiality and the relevant laws regarding this.
4. Assist in the maintenance of Security
This includes being observant of the waiting area at all times
Ensuring that unauthorised persons are unable to gain entrance to the premises
Alerting the appropriate personnel if you are in doubt.
Essential Skills Required:
- At least 1 year of Reception experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent telephone manner
- Able to work under pressure
- Knowledge of Outlook, Access, and Excel
Desirable Skills:
- Flexibility
- Ability to prioritise workloads
- Experience of working in a clinical setting
