Mechanical Design Engineer

Up to £50K + Benefits

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading designer and manufacturer of bespoke equipment used in various industries.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing equipment based on customer requirements and relevant standards and ensure completed equipment meets the design requirements. You will also be responsible for managing your own design projects from concept through to completion

Duties:

• Site surveys
• Concept design, detail design and drawing using Autodesk Inventor
• Technical documentation, calculations, and BOM through to manufacture.
• Carry out stress analysis.
• Selection of correct materials and bought in items
• Producing drawings for fabrication and assembly.
• Liaising with suppliers and clients
• Inspection of equipment to ensure design requirements have been met
• Maintaining records according to the company’s quality system
• Follow procedures contained in the company’s Environmental Management System, Safety Policy and Quality System.

Required Skills and Experience for the Mechanical Design Engineer.

• Considerable Mechanical design engineering experience
• Good 3D design experience (AutoDesk Inventor experience would be an advantage, however not essential-Solidworks, Solid Edge, Creo will also be considered)
• Your Mechanical Design engineering experience should-ideally-encompass designing for sheet metal and welding fabrications.
• Experience in designing special purpose machinery or plant equipment
