PEM Engineering & Construction (PEMEC) are a petrochemical engineering company with knowledge and experience of Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Projects, Maintenance, Shutdowns, Labour Sourcing, Petrochemical, Oil, Gas and Construction Industries. Our head office is based in Witham, Hull , where we also have a Pipefitting/Welding workshop to supply our clients with bespoke project welding/pipe work.
We are seeking a talented and driven Mechanical Engineer to join one of our clients in Hull. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by improving equipment reliability, ensuring safety compliance, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Engineering team to enhance equipment availability and reliability while ensuring safe and cost-effective production.
- Ensure compliance with Engineering specifications, Environmental, Health & Safety policies, and current legislation.
- Support the Engineering Manager in developing and implementing a proactive maintenance strategy to achieve site and business objectives.
- Identify and act on opportunities for equipment upgrades or replacements to enhance compliance and performance.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Operations team to manage and complete engineering workloads effectively.
- Facilitate appropriate training for staff operating plant equipment, adhering to manufacturer guidance.
- Provide operational machine/process skills to offer coverage, supervision, and development insights.
- Undertake additional responsibilities or tasks as required by Directors.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food related)
- Excellent level of attendance and timekeeping
- Relevant experience in engineering, maintenance, and operational processes.
- A commitment to upholding health, safety, and environmental standards.
General Attainment & Training
- All core training and mandatory procedures
- All relevant site/area policies, procedures & processes (including customer specific requirements)
- Minimum Level 2 Food Safety
- Level 3 HACCP Engineers Only
- Group and site induction.
- Level 2 H&S awareness.
Night Shifts - Sunday to Thursday
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £23.55-£24.55 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
