We are actively searching for a talented and driven Quality Engineer at our Hebburn site, to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about ensuring the highest standards of quality and making a real impact in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with suppliers, building relationships and ensuring the standard of supplied parts is maintained.
  • To support the Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining the business management system certified to ISO9001.
  • Internal team management and mentoring.
  • To provide advice, support and guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure quality control processes are adequate, effective and any issues are accurately recorded in non-conformance system.
  • Internal and external quality concern management and reporting through internal non-conformance system including supplier warranty control.
  • Carry out supplier audits in line with the agreed frequency and timescales.
  • Carry out internal audits of the quality management system and internal processes.
  • Write, maintain and review all quality related standard operations.
  • Take ownership of the internal non-conformance process.
  • Assist with Business Partner Due Diligence supplier onboarding process.
  • Collate key metric data both internal and external and report out findings against KPI’s.
  • Work collaboratively with Procurement Manager to audit the supply chain using risk-based audit program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a quality related role.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Previous experience of working to internationally recognised standards including ISO 9001.
  • Experience of carrying out root-cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why’s, etc.
  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing or construction equipment environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Desirable

  • Qualified in a recognised engineering discipline to HNC/HND/Foundation Degree standard.
  • Green Belt (or above) Six Sigma qualified.
  • Current or recent experience in welding inspection to CSWIP standards or similar certification.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualified.
