Purpose of the Role

1.1 To carry out quality planning and produce a framework that the project can use to provide a quality product.

1.2 To ensure that quality and management system requirements are delivered.

1.3 To ensure that the works are as specified and that the required testing and commissioning has taken place.

1.4 To provide Governance support to site team as required e.g. GDPR, Data Protection and other compliance issues as required.

1.5 To manage the Assurance process to ensure that the project works can be properly certified as correct to the client.

1.6 To manage and drive Improvement activities to assist the project in meeting its goals.

1.7 To provide support and advice on Quality within the Context of the project including best practice and lessons learnt activity.

1.8 To manage the document control function (if required)

Role Accountabilities

Governance Develop and maintain a team to carry out appropriate quality management activities. Carry out quality planning activities including developing a Quality Plan and carrying out an assessment of Quality Risks Develop project specific management system plans and procedures where required.(where required) Act as the local representative for GDPR and Data Protection matters(Where Required) Lead the document control function and ensure all documentation and records are properly controlled. Mentor Quality Engineers and other subordinate staff and assist in their development.

Assurance Be responsible for all project assurance matters including the certification of each element of the works. Develop a project specific assurance regime in line with company requirements Prepare and maintain a project audit and surveillance plan. Carry out audits and surveillances as required by the project audit and surveillance plan. Manage the inspection and test plan (ITP) submittal and approval process including tracking the progress to completion of each ITP. Manage the production of “Red-line” drawings from the site team and, if necessary, manage the process to turn them into “As built” status. Assist in the production of Operation and Maintenance Manuals and Health and Safety File for handover to the client. Manage the Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) process and track each Non-Conformity (Whether Defect, NCR, Snag or Outstanding works to ensure that they are satisfactorily completed by the site team(s)Maintain a Log of all non-conformities and ensure that these are progressed to closure in a timely basis. Take accountability for the quality measurement devices, ensuring that they are fit for purpose. Be able to take required action in the event of measurements from a device becoming uncertain. Improvement Lead regular quality meetings with the purpose of improving quality management on the project. Collect and trend relevant quality data, analyse and report this with a view to making improvements and reducing repeat mistakes Arrange and facilitate regular “lessons learnt” forums and ensure that the results are recorded and disseminated to the project team and wider stakeholders Produce and agree a project quality improvement plan to address major quality risks and lessons learnt and then support the project manager in implementing this plan. Context Attend industry seminars on behalf of the company and report / disseminate learning from seminars Supply coaching and advice on quality matters and techniques within the context of construction.

Comprehensive understanding of project administration procedures. Comprehensive understanding of document control processes and procedures including knowledge of ISO 19650 (National Annex A) - document numberingComputer literate (Particularly Excel and Word)Familiarity with using EDMS systems (Themis/Projectwise/4Projects/A-Site e.t.c)Basic understanding of HTUK’s Integrated Management System (IMS)Basic understanding of the project delivery objectives

Understanding of the purpose and importance of accurate document control in a commercial and assurance context.
