Playground Games is looking for a Gameplay Animator to join our talented Fable team on a contract basis.
ABOUT US:
As a first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about making genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and, most of all, fun. We are excited to be rebooting the much-loved Fable franchise and are expanding our diverse team to create a new classic in the action RPG genre.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Gameplay Animator at Playground, you are passionate, eager to learn, and a keen problem solver. We seek creative animators with a deep fondness for gaming and an understanding of how to implement animations in a game engine.
Your experience in animation will have given you a solid foundation to build on and a developed eye for the breakdown and design of animation focused mechanics.
Whether you’re a seasoned animator with a strong foundation or an emerging talent ready to grow your skills, this role offers an opportunity to enhance your understanding of animation-focused mechanics.
This is a contract role based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa. We have a hybrid work model in place with a minimum of 3 days a week in studio. Relocation assistance is available if required.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Create and iterate on high-quality key-frame and mocap animation assets and implement them in-game.
- Following guidelines on content workflows and planning will form a part of your responsibilities.
- Collaborate in the execution of mocap shoots while being mindful of technical constraints.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Showcase exceptional key-frame animation skills in a reel that demonstrates your mastery of foundational animation principles and acting abilities.
- Illustrate a proficient command of weight, timing, and posing through your ability to manipulate motion capture data and key-frame animation.
- A deep passion for game development and a keen awareness of current titles and industry trends will set you apart.
DESIRABLE (NOT REQUIRED):
- Experience working on console games or RPG games. Skills in motion capture and facial animation.
