Are you a dynamic and driven leader with a passion for operational excellence? Our client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing and engineering sector, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal role and make a significant impact on a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organise, and optimise operational resources to fulfil customer orders effectively.
  • Stabilise and manage teams across picking, packing, assembly, finishing, and manufacturing to consistently meet KPIs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance standards to ensure exceptional product and service quality.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance manufacturing capacity, enabling the insourcing of 20% of production activities.
  • Oversee operational activities, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop staff to maintain a motivated and high-performing team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Implement production systems and best practices to improve planning, scheduling, and resource utilisation.
  • Introduce and maintain industry-leading manufacturing processes across all operations.
  • Create and uphold health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring compliance and team wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance planning, processes, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and schedule activities to achieve quality assurance and on-time delivery targets.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • Exceptional leadership and emotional intelligence, with a track record of driving change and developing teams.
  • Happy to spend more time leading and influencing on the shop floor
  • Strong understanding of production processes and quality management systems, particularly in metal manufacturing or engineering.
  • Formal production management qualifications or equivalent technical training are essential.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools such as MES, MPS, and MRP.
  • A rigorous, detail-oriented approach with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates resilience, a problem-solving mindset, and a collaborative team-first attitude.

KPIs for Success:

  • On Time in Full (OTIF) delivery.
  • Parts Per Million (PPM) quality standards.
  • Productivity metrics (e.g., parts per manufacturing hour).

Benefits

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000
