We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Care Worker who is fluent in Tamil to provide high-quality care and support to a client in the comfort of their own home. This role involves assisting with personal care, daily activities, and promoting the well-being of the individual. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the needs of the elderly or individuals with disabilities and will be able to communicate effectively with the client in Tamil.

Key Responsibilities :

• Personal Care :
• Assist the client with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment as needed.
• Ensure the client’s comfort and dignity is maintained at all times.
• Health and Well-Being :
• Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Monitor the client’s health, noting any changes and reporting to the relevant healthcare professionals.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Daily Living Support :
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Support with meal planning and preparation to ensure the client is receiving a balanced and nutritious diet.
• Help with errands, shopping, and appointments as required.
• Communication :
• Build a positive relationship with the client, providing care with kindness, respect, and patience.
• Effectively communicate with the client in Tamil, ensuring their needs are understood and met.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of care activities and communicate any concerns or changes to family members or healthcare professionals.
• Promote Independence :
• Encourage the client to remain as independent as possible while providing the necessary support.
• Help the client engage in activities that promote physical and mental stimulation, such as hobbies, walks, or social interactions.
• Live-In Care :
• Provide 24-hour care in the client’s home, ensuring they are comfortable and safe at all times.
• Ensure the client’s home is tidy and organised, taking responsibility for your living space.
• Follow agreed-upon routines and schedules, while remaining flexible to the client’s needs.

Requirements

Proven experience in providing personal care or support to individuals, particularly the elderly or those with disabilities.

Fluency in Tamil is essential, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the client in their preferred language.

Empathy, patience, and a caring attitude, with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for the client.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team when required.

Previous training or certifications in health and social care (e.g., Care Certificate, First Aid) would be an advantage.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with the client and their family.
