The Role

BuzzFeed is looking for shopping-and products-focused freelance writers to contribute to BuzzFeed Shopping. BuzzFeed’s shopping section is an expanding editorial endeavor that includes both service-oriented and entertaining content for a shopping-minded audience (see our “Shopping” page for examples).

You Will

• Write well-researched, service-forward product roundups in categories such as home, fashion, beauty, kids/parenting, pets, and more.
• Take assignments from BuzzFeed editors at will. Posts will be assigned based on expertise and brand partnerships. Our rate begins at $150/post.
• Optimize any affiliate product links that are included in posts.
• Research products in various categories and price points that are of interest to the BuzzFeed audience.
• Follow our Shopping team’s best practices and meet our editorial standards by choosing and describing products in a thoughtful, informative way that matches the BuzzFeed voice.

You Have

• Previous experience writing for a magazine or website, or exemplary blogging/writing experience about consumer products. Previous affiliate experience is a big plus.
• Genuine love for the internet and online shopping.
• Firm understanding of the BuzzFeed audience and voice and the ability to describe products in both an entertaining and informative way
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle critical feedback and improve from it.
