Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that meal preparation and food safety standards are consistently met. Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients as directed by the head chef or cook.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen, adhering to all health regulations.
  • Help in the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen area, ensuring that all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.
  • Support the culinary team during busy service periods by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating dishes.
  • Participate in inventory management by helping to receive and store deliveries, ensuring that stock is rotated effectively.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service times.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is desirable but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
  • Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and food safety practices will be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are essential for success in this role.
  • A passion for culinary arts and a desire to develop skills within the kitchen environment will be highly regarded.
