This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical design engineer to take on a senior role within a dynamic R&D studio. Based in Royal Leamington Spa, you’ll lead the development of innovative medical devices, managing projects from concept through to production.

The position offers a balance of technical design, leadership, and mentoring responsibilities. You’ll be working on a variety of challenging projects, applying your expertise to solve complex engineering problems and deliver high-quality products.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll:

  • Lead the design and development of medical devices, ensuring technical excellence.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Perform calculations and simulations, including FEA and injection moulding analysis.
  • Develop manufacturing and assembly strategies for new products.
  • Manage the workload of yourself and your team to meet project deadlines.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to their development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver on technical and commercial project goals.

What You 'll Need

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in medical device design or similar regulated industries.
  • Strong skills in 3D CAD, including SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing processes such as injection moulding and assembly.
  • A track record of leading projects and successfully launching products.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers.

What 's On Offer

The role includes:

  • A salary of £60,000-£65,000.
  • Paid overtime with the option to take time off in lieu.
  • Flexible working hours around core business times (10am-3pm).
