Job Title: Head Chef
Reporting to: Executive Chef Elly Wentworth
OVERVIEW:
As the Head Chef at The Holland Group, you will lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences at Embankment Bistro. Your expertise in kitchen operations, menu development, and team management will be instrumental in maintaining the high standards of culinary excellence that define our establishments.
DUTIES:
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Develop seasonal menus that showcase creativity and cater to diverse tastes
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure quality and consistency in dishes
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed to meet demand
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and kitchen budgeting
- Monitor food costs and work towards maximizing profitability without compromising quality
- Lead by example in upholding a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professionalism in the kitchen
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a restaurant setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a culinary team
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety protocols
- Creativity in menu planning and a passion for delivering innovative dishes
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field is a plus
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
