We’re looking for an enthusiastic cook to join our dedicated and friendly kitchen teams in Penzance to support our elderly clients.

The home is well known in the local community, has a good reputation.

You will be able to plan and prepare nutritious food on a daily basis, suppers and cakes ensuring that all ingredients purchased and used are freshly delivered from our suppliers and meet the dietary needs of our residents.

Required skills and requirements

• A recognised catering/food hygiene qualification & at least 1 years’ experience is preferred
• To prepare and cook a nutritious, well balanced and well-presented meals based on individual needs and requirements
• Ability to work under pressure either alone or as part of a team
• Good time management & organisational skills
• Flexible and adaptable
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to manage stock control, rotation and ordering of supplies
• Basic food hygiene certificate (an NVQ level 2 and intermediate/advanced food hygiene are desirable).
• Maintain AbleCares high standards and expectations
