Key responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer - Process Development
- Challenge and enhance existing and new manufacturing techniques to broaden capabilities.
- Develop business cases for new investments and process modifications.
- Contribute to the overall investment strategy for process development.
- Manage investment projects from concept through to implementation using the clients project management principles.
- Liaise with suppliers and collaborate with the clients Capex team.
- Oversee the handover of new processes to production, ensuring stakeholders are well-prepared.
- Monitor savings and cost levels for new investments and improvement initiatives.
- Drive data-driven manufacturing through strategic investments.
- Establish initial process capability baselines and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
Skills and Experience required of the Manufacturing Engineer - Process Development
Essential:
- HND/Degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience leading projects or work packages.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- IT proficiency with a keen interest in IoT and digitalisation.
Desirable:
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of project management methods (Prince2, Agile, Scrum, or similar).
- Experience with automation and robotics in a manufacturing setting.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Ambition to pursue IEng/CEng accreditation or equivalent.
