GEOSIGHT are a Salisbury based specialist Land & Hydrographic survey company and recent winners of Salisbury Business of the Year Award.
We are looking to recruit to the following position to support business growth:
Boundary Surveyor:
The Boundary Surveyor is responsible for leading on all boundary related projects and client interaction. The Boundary Surveyor will report directly to the Geomatics Manager. The Boundary Surveyor will be committed to the success of the Geomatics Division.
For the right candidate GEOSIGHT is willing to provide on the job training to extend a candidates knowledge base to ensure the requirements below are met.
The Boundary Surveyor will specifically be responsible for:
- Working under the applicable regulations and requirements of GEOSIGHT and the industry
- Bringing an extensive knowledge of boundary surveys and legal matters surrounding boundaries.
- Leading with technical and legal aspects of boundary survey operations including processing and reporting of boundary survey data.
- Leading on client liaison relating to boundary queries and to provide results in appropriate formats.
- Producing boundary reports including CPR35 compliant reports
- Reporting any potential technical issues relating to clients, project over-runs, etc. to Geomatics Manager/Director.
Day to day duties may include:
- Boundary processing, reporting and & leading with QA of completed projects.
- Project administration, client liaison & resource allocation - staff, equipment, vehicles, HSE, etc.
- Liaising with clients by telephone, email, reports and in meetings as required.
- Attending site meetings as required.
- Maintaining & keeping up to date project information within the ASANA project management software.
- Communicating with clients and GEOSIGHT survey managers any risks to projects in regard to project milestones and deadlines.
- Working as part of a team of technical specialists.
- Assisting with compilation of company survey procedures and development of new techniques.
- Supporting the Geomatics Manager and Technical Director to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Contributing to survey strategies regarding projects, tasks, and operations current and future.
- Supporting the Geomatics Manager to ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as the Geomatics Manager/Director see fit for the role.
Requirements for the role of Boundary Surveyor will be:
- Knowledge and experience of writing CPR35 compliant reports
- Knowledge of producing Land Registry compliant plans for both general and determined boundary applications
- Excellent communicator at all levels both internally and externally to all stakeholders in boundary survey work.
- Capable and willing to cope with emotional clients and their neighbours in an empathetic but business-like way, engendering confidence in your abilities.
Additional Duties of the Boundary Surveyor may include:
- Keeping abreast of technical developments within the industry.
- Identifying new business opportunities.
- Assisting with client management and business development.
- Assisting with the development of a strong team of competent and qualified personnel.
- Presenting services and capabilities to new and potential clients.
- Personnel development and training according to ICES and/ or RICS framework.
- Desirable but not essential: Use of Land survey instrumentation and software - Total Station, GNSS.
