Syos Aerospace, an innovative aviation high-growth Company based in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aerospace/Flight Dynamics Engineer to join our talented team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and analyse flight dynamic models for uncrewed fixed wings and rotorcrafts.
- Perform stability, control, and performance assessments for new/existing designs and optimises flight performance metrics.
- Collaborate with the mechanical team to refine airframe and control surface configurations for improved aerodynamic efficiency.
- Conduct aerodynamic and flight simulations and assess handling qualities with the aid of computational tools.
- Utilise computational tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, CFD software, and flight dynamics analysis software to support design and optimisation.
- Define test plans and support flight test programs, including data analysis and validation.
- Work closely with the avionics team to integrate sensors and flight control systems for enhanced performance and stability.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent Engineering or Applied Physics degree.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in in flight dynamics modelling, stability & control analysis, and performance evaluation.
- Strong understanding of aircraft, helicopter and UAS designs, systems, aerodynamics.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and CFD tools (such as ANSYS Fluent or SolidWorks flow simulation etc.) for flight mechanics applications.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++ is a plus.
- Familiarity with flight testing procedures and data analysis techniques.
- Understanding of aircraft/rotorcraft regulatory requirements.
- Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment and communicate technical findings effectively.
- Passion for aviation and a strong desire to contribute to the future of UAS technology.
