Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Head of IT at Liverpool Hope University will play a pivotal role in overseeing the university’s technology infrastructure and systems, ensuring it aligns with institutional goals and enhances the educational experience for students and faculty. This role involves managing IT Operations, Cybersecurity, network systems, Systems Development, Audio Visual, the implementation of new technologies that support both academic and administrative functions. The Head of IT is tasked with planning, budget management, and leading a skilled IT team to provide reliable, secure, and innovative services across the university. They will work closely with various departments, including academic faculties and administration, to identify technology needs, enhance digital capabilities, and support teaching and research initiatives through robust and efficient IT solutions.

The ideal candidate for the Head of IT role is an experienced, forward-thinking professional with a solid background in IT leadership within complex organizations, preferably in higher education or similarly structured environments. This individual should have a strong grasp of IT governance, planning, and a proven record of managing teams and large-scale projects. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role requires collaborating across departments to understand and anticipate their technology needs. This person will be proactive, adaptable, and capable of fostering a secure, supportive digital environment that aligns with Liverpool Hope University’s values of community, inclusivity, and academic excellence.
