Job Title: Trainee Independent Financial Planner
Location: Ipswich
Salary: Competitive + Benefits

About the Role
We are offering a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a highly successful financial planning firm as a Trainee Independent Financial Planner. This role is ideal for someone who is currently working as a Paraplanner but has aspirations to move into an advisory role. Over the course of 12 months, you will transition from a Paraplanner, working closely alongside one of the firm’s top-performing advisers, into a fully qualified Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) with an existing portfolio of clients ready to inherit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Paraplanning Support: Initially, you will provide technical support to a top-performing IFA, assisting with research, report writing, and client liaison.
  • Client Engagement: You will be involved in client meetings, gaining hands-on experience in delivering tailored financial advice.
  • Development: With structured training and mentorship, you will gradually build your advisory skills, working towards stepping into an IFA role within 12 months.
  • Client Portfolio Management: Upon transition, you will inherit a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, taking over existing relationships and ensuring a seamless transition of service.
  • Financial Advice Delivery: As you progress, you will provide holistic financial advice on pensions, investments, tax planning, and protection.

About You

  • Qualifications: You must hold the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Paraplanner in an IFA or wealth management environment is essential.
  • Ambition: You are looking to transition into a client-facing financial adviser role and have the drive to build relationships and deliver excellent advice.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial products and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpersonal Skills: A natural relationship builder with excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire trust with clients.

What We Offer

  • A structured pathway from paraplanning to advice, with full training and mentorship.
  • The opportunity to inherit a ready-made portfolio of high-net-worth clients.
  • Competitive salary and benefits, including ongoing professional development.
  • A supportive and team-focused culture that values personal growth and progression.
