DataMC UK is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Technical Project Lead to join our Wakefield team. With experience the right candidate will be able to progress to Program Manager over time. To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a good working knowledge of what data migration (DM) is. You will need to have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with SQL, and experience in running a team and working with clients.

A DataMC UK Technical Project Lead’s role will encompass:

  • Participating in the Technical Project Manager’s meetings with your line manager

  • Participating in all aspects of the data migration project as required or time permits, i.e. Mapping and Requirements, ETL, Data Verification etc
  • Working with clients providing weekly status updates and escalating project issues
  • Being responsible for all resources allocated to their Project Pool (PP)
  • Working with Project Officer for tracking of the project from timesheet information
  • Available to travel to client sites as and when required, i.e. project kick-off, last trial, go-live, serious issue resolution with client
  • Identifying skill gaps within resources and raising with your line manager
  • Generate and Manage Run-sheets for Trials and Go-Lives
  • Monitoring ETL Coding for Projects
  • Stand up meetings with your allocated project team as and when required.

You will possess strong skills and/or knowledge in the following:

  • An understanding or experience of DM staging and ETL processes
  • Demonstrated SQL Server coding ability
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • The ability to create and document scripts/programs to facilitate the extraction, transformation and loading of legacy data using Microsoft SQL Server, or like ETL tools, to implement new system or data warehouse repositories
  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end DM trials/cutovers
  • Skills in Git for version control, especially familiarity with the Git flow methodology, would be highly desirable.
  • You must possess UK Citizenship, Permanent Residency status, or the right to work in the UK.

A work-from-home position is optional to start with during the 2 week training course, moving into an office environment soon after starting the role. Once up and running this full-time position will not suit people looking to work remotely.

There will be a three-stage interviewing process. If you are progressed through to the second round, an approximate 90 minute SQL test will be required to be undertaken. Successful candidates will undergo our in-house intensive two-week training course before allocation to a client project in a developer role to carry on learning the in house tools / processes we use on a DM. Experience to progress to a Technical Project Lead role should take a couple of months in the developer role. After a time in the Technical Project Lead role, the right candidate will have the skills, experience and drive to then progress to Program Manager, overseeing several projects at once.

We may interview shortlisted applicants before the closing date so if you are interested, APPLY NOW.

We offer a competitive salary depending on experience.
