From the original Pieri’s Cafe in the late 70’s, Ristorante Liguria in the 80’s and 90’s, Pieri’s in the 00’s and now Punto Kilmacolm - this venue has been proud to serve Kilmacolm and the surrounding villages for over 40 years. In it’s latest guise as Punto Kilmacolm, ‘The Meeting Point,’ we continue this by offering a relaxed bar and restaurant setting with the emphasis always on quality of product and service.

Sous Chef

Due to our continued success, a great opportunity has arisen to join our team at Punto Kilmacolm. We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our team in a bustling restaurant kitchen. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in food preparation, cooking, and overseeing kitchen operations to ensure high-quality dishes are served promptly.

  • Duties*

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and create menus

  • Supervise kitchen staff and delegate tasks effectively

  • Assist in food preparation, cooking, and presentation

  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations

  • Manage inventory and control food costs

  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment

  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff

  • Requirements*

  • Previous experience in a busy Italian kitchen is a distinct advantage

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team

  • Proficiency in culinary techniques and food production

  • Knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • A passion for delivering high-quality dishes and exceptional customer service

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
