Job Overview

The Quality Manager at FreshAsia Food Ltd will lead and oversee all aspects of the quality management system to ensure that our food products meet both internal and external quality standards. This role is responsible for managing quality assurance processes, coordinating cross-functional teams for continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management within a food manufacturing environment and be adept at driving process improvements and risk assessments.

HACCP Leadership & Management:

  • Draft, review, and update HACCP plans and procedures.
  • Organize and lead HACCP meetings and cross-functional team discussions.
  • Ensure HACCP documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Quality Management System (QMS) & Internal Audit:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 22000, GMP).
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and continuous improvement of all QMS documentation, procedures, and training materials.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute regular internal audits to assess compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Document audit findings, coordinate corrective actions, and follow up on their implementation.

Quality Supervision:

  • Manage and train the QC team to ensure that production and warehouse operations strictly adhere to GMP, quality standards, and HACCP protocols.
  • Oversee routine inspections and audits in production and warehouse areas, ensuring compliance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee product inspections, testing protocols, and quality control procedures to ensure adherence to food safety standards.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and enforcing corrective actions as needed.

Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions:

  • Lead investigations into quality and safety issues, conduct thorough root cause analyses, and implement effective corrective and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and improve overall process quality.

Supplier Quality Management

  • Manage the QAT team and work collaboratively to evaluate supplier qualifications and approve supplier credentials.
  • Address supplier complaints and ensure that supplier performance meets established quality standards.
  • Work closely with procurement to implement supplier improvement measures as needed.

Product Specifications & Customer Complaint Management:

  • Oversee the review and approval of finished product specifications, traceability documentation, and label audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Manage customer complaint investigations, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of issues to prevent recurrence.
  • Support NPD project

Training & Leadership:

  • Develop and deliver training programs on HACCP, QMS, GMP, and quality control standards to ensure that all employees are informed and compliant.
  • Mentor and lead the quality assurance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and food safety excellence.

Compliance & External Auditing:

  • Ensure that all products comply with relevant food safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage responses to audit findings in a timely manner.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Prepare and present detailed reports on quality, HACCP, internal audits, supplier performance, and customer complaints to senior management.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for quality and food safety issues both internally and with external regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in quality management, quality assurance, or quality control within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Haccp Level 3, Food safety level 3.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams, performing risk assessments, and executing continuous improvement projects.

Logical thinking and knowledge on GMP (Good manufacturing practice)

  • Attention to detail is necessary
  • Clear verbal communication in English
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Display a positive attitude towards work, team members and overall company goals
  • Able to proactively engage with and lead teams

Preferable Experience

  • Previous Quality Assurance Management experience
  • Food-related degrees
  • Knowledge of the HACCP system
  • Food hygiene qualification

Schedule:

  • 40+ hrs per week, Monday to Saturday (1hr unpaid break)

Language Requirements:

  • English (fluent)
  • Any other languages will be a plus!

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
