About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Projects Lead to take full ownership of our project delivery (Typical project value from £10K-£150K). This is a dynamic role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for a big-picture thinker who thrives on making decisions, pushing boundaries and embracing new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Project Delivery : Lead projects from client consultation to completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, and profitability.
• Innovative & Technical Design & Quotation: Formalise system designs, procure parts, and prepare competitive quotations for Solar PV, Biomass boilers, and M&E works.
• Client Relationship Management : Build strong, lasting relationships with clients through excellent communication and service.
• On-Site Leadership : Conduct site visits, manage contractors and teams, and oversee project execution to a high standard.
• Efficiency Improvement : Recommend and implement modern systems and processes to maximise operational efficiency.
• Reporting : Track and report project progression, profitability, and outcomes.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong background in HVAC , electrical/mechanical , facilities management , or building services.
• Time served tradesperson or good technical understanding oh HVAC/Electrical.
• Familiarity with M&E design and installation projects.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Competency in using MS Excel and Word.
• Full driving license.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Solar PV systems and Biomass/District heating systems.
• Experience in snagging, aftersales, and tender preparation.
• Experience with Job management systems and admin organisation tools.
• Technical understanding of engineering drawings and bills of materials (BoM).
• Proven experience managing projects and teams, with a history of delivering on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate is either a time served tradesperson who is looking for more regular hours and less hands on work or a proved project manager/foreman who is used to managing trades and understanding technical systems and active problem solving. The candidate should be forward-thinking, motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. They are a big-picture thinker who enjoys working collaboratively with clients, contractors, and team members to deliver high-quality projects. They are proactive in identifying efficiencies and are eager to implement modern systems and processes. This individual has a passion for new technology and is ready to grow with AB Energy Centre.
