Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our retail store, if you want to be involved in a family run, fast paced baby store then we have the role for you. At Newbie & Me we pride ourselves on 5 star customer service and offer a wide variety of premium brands to our customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of customer service, managing staff, and driving sales performance. This position is full time consisting of a minimum 35.5 hours per week and requires full availability throughout the working week. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and team members.
Duties
- Supervise daily store operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales associates, fostering a positive work environment.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve store targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and store presentation.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
- Monitor inventory levels, report any stock shortages to your line manager in order to fulfil future orders and maintain good stock levels in store and document these properly.
- Conduct regular staff training sessions to improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Prepare reports on sales performance, staff productivity, and customer feedback for management review.
- Set targets/incentives with in your team to drive certain products
- Communicate any product changes/sales/ex-display items to the team in any way which you seem fit.
- Conduct one-to-one reviews periodically with each member of staff to document progress and support.
- Make sure your own product knowledge is up to date and you are able to support other team members if needed.
- You will be a responsible key holder, meaning opening and closing the store as well as attending any alarm call outs.
Skills
- Proven experience in Managing teams within a retail environment.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with customers effectively.
- Bilingual proficiency is an advantage for enhancing customer interactions.
- Demonstrated sales management skills with a track record of achieving targets.
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in phone etiquette for handling customer calls professionally.
