Torrance Lodge Care Home is an 88 bedded care home situated in the village of Hurlford on the outskirts of Kilmarnock and has been committed to promoting the health and wellbeing to our residents since 1985.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Head Chef/Cook at Torrance Lodge , you will lead the kitchen staff team to make sure they help every resident to enjoy the best possible quality and nutritious meals. That means leading by example and monitoring standards through regular audits and evaluation.

Hours;

3 - 4 days per week 36 hours per week approximately

7:00am to 5:00pm approximately

ABOUT YOU

• You should have up to date certification of statutory food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
• Experience of working in a busy kitchen, operating catering equipment is essential.
• Skilled at home baking
• Experience of leading and managing a small team.
• Experience in stock control, ordering and budgeting.
• You should have excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Knowledge of infection control and procedures.
• Knowledge of nutritional requirements of older people and how to prepare food to the expectations.
• Knowledge of the national care standards and how they relate to the post.
