The Role
You will be part of a growing team tasked with reviewing technical surveys, retrofit assessments, proposed work schedules, products, and installation methods to ensure all designs are compliant with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee design management to ensure compliance with contracts, work specifications, and PAS 2035/2030 standards.

Review and remain up-to-date with all building regulations relevant to design work.

Conduct meetings and briefings with internal departments, external partners, and contractors.

Collaborate with the Retrofit Coordinator to deliver first-class, compliant designs.

Provide constructive feedback to surveyors and installers to improve quality standards.

Prepare detailed design and specification documents for proposed measures, including material, product, process, and standard requirements, ensuring compliance with PAS 2035.

Assess the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, and propose repair solutions.

Ensure that the Retrofit Coordinator and relevant teams understand the design’s key features and installation requirements.

Work with the Retrofit Coordinator to achieve the desired outcomes of each project.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must be one of the following:
-
An Architectural Technologist (MCIAT or FCIAT) registered with CIAT.

A professional member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB or FCIOB).
-
A Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS or FRICS).
-
A qualified Architect with ARB membership.
Essential Skills:
-
Previous experience with PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 standards is essential.

Experience in retrofit projects is highly desirable.

At least one year’s experience in a design environment.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Effective communication skills.
