Doctors Direct have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant, Haematologist to work with us at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust in Haematology.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide expert care for patients with a range of haematological conditions, including malignant (e.g., leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma) and non-malignant disorders (e.g., thrombosis, bleeding disorders, anaemias).
- Oversee the management of patients requiring chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
- Interpret complex haematology investigations, including blood smears, bone marrow biopsies, and molecular diagnostics.
- Provide guidance on transfusion medicine, including blood product usage and management of complex transfusion cases.
- Participate in the on-call rota, managing urgent haematological issues, including bleeding complications, thrombotic events, and acute haematological malignancies.
- Lead and support quality improvement initiatives within the haematology service.

- Days per week: Ad hoc shifts
- Start date : ASAP- no end date, this is on-going the client will accept short term contracts
- Rate of pay: £125 -£175
- Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies

About you:
Valid GMC
Right to work in the UK
Clinical attachment complete - We do not offer placements in the NHS
Minimum of 6 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
