The overall purpose of the role

The Technical Author in our Product Development Team is responsible for consolidating information from suppliers to communicate across the Group

Responsibilities

  • Collate all data, collateral and photography for new product launches.
  • Build and then take photos of new products and their components to ensure excellent and intelligent imagery is available.
  • Design and create line drawings and user instructions.
  • Writing and editing product instructions and technical data sheets.
  • Create products packs (a product information pack will be distributed prior to product launch.)
  • Ensure product launch deadlines are met.
  • Ensure all Ultima Displays companies are kept up to date with new product information and collateral.
  • Create and maintain a complete catalogue of all current Ultima products that are available from China.
  • Research projects and compile findings into a presentable format.
  • Production of data sheets, research findings and visual material.
  • Collaborate with product development personnel to clarify technical processes.
  • Create and maintain a library of UK and European competitors and all products purchased from China.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Hold a relevant degree to the role is advantageous.
  • Mid to light weight Graphic Designer with a bias towards technical illustration and photography.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Proficient at working on Adobe Creative Cloud using Photoshop, InDesign and illustrator.
  • MAC literate.
  • Knowledge of website maintenance and copywriting skills is desirable.
  • Photography skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of working with exhibition stands would be preferred.
  • Maintaining professional internal and external relationships that meet company values.
  • Able to manage your own workload and work independently.
  • The role will require you to be practical and hands on with the stands

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,000.00 per year
