About The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor who is friendly, motivated, and hardworking, who will bring their skills and energy to our fast-paced café.

As a Supervisor at Coffee Evolution, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our café, whilst reporting to and working directly with the Management Team. This is a hands-on position where you’ll work within the café team, leading from the front to uphold quality and provide exceptional customer service. Your passion for hospitality and attention to detail will help create an environment where both our staff and customers feel welcome and valued.

Your Responsibilities:

Daily Operations:

Opening and closing the café, ensuring all procedures are followed ready for a day’s trading and for security at the end of the day; day to day running and service – including serving customers, making coffee and serving ice cream.

Customer Care and Experience:

Upholding our commitment to providing excellent customer service, handling customer enquiries, and any complaints or requests to ensure everyone leaves with a positive experience.

Stock Management and Ordering:

Monitoring stock levels, ensuring stock rotation and placing orders using our online ordering system.

Staff Training and Development:

Guide and train new hires and support current staff through training and development initiatives to improve staff skills, knowledge and performance.

Shift Scheduling:

Managing the scheduling of staff in conjunction with the Management Team via our online rota software.

Hygiene and Cleanliness:

Ensuring daily and deep cleaning initiatives are carried out to maintain a clean and organised work environment, upholding hygiene regulations and brand standards, and providing an inviting environment for our customers.

Adherence to Company Policies:

Ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures, especially hygiene and safety standards.

Supervision of Staff:

Supervising and directing staff during their shifts to maintain efficiency and productivity, providing guidance and support as needed.

Collaborating with the Management Team:

Ensuring any operational challenges are addressed and solutions implemented to minimise any interruptions to service.

Cash Handling:

Including opening and closing tills and managing float.

Acting Responsibly:

Responding promptly to any emergencies or incidents that may arise during a shift.

Requirements:

  • Team/Shift Leader or Management experience – minimum 2 years (required)
  • Hospitality/Café experience – minimum 2 years (required)
  • Customer service – minimum 3 years (required)
  • Barista experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Strong team management and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good level of computer literacy – in addition to email, we use online shift scheduling and stock ordering (training on our systems will be provided)
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks as required

Working hours:

Due to the seasonality of our business, this is a short-term role contracted until the 1 November. For the right candidate there may be the opportunity to extend.

Our café is open 7 days a week throughout the year with weekends, bank holidays and school holidays our busiest periods.

40 hours per week to include 2.5 weekends out of 4.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £14.20 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
