This role sits within our Security business division which provides physical security guarding, access control, alarm systems and perimeter property protection, CCTV, mobile surveillance, and ANPR Technology services to a wide range of prestigious clients.
About The Role:
The Campus Support Officer plays a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment across the university estate. This role involves proactive patrolling, responding to incidents and alarm activations, and providing support to staff, students, and visitors.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Security & Patrols
- Conduct visible foot and mobile patrols to deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour.
- Lock and unlock university buildings, ensuring security systems and alarms are set accordingly.
Incident Response & Support
- Respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations, investigating causes and taking appropriate action.
- Provide accurate and timely incident reports following university procedures.
- Offer guidance, support, and assistance to staff, students, and visitors when required.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Promote and uphold the highest standards of safety in accordance with university policies and procedures.
- Report any health and safety concerns or breaches in line with company guidelines.
Essential :
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with incidents.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in the security industry or a similar role.
- A full UK driving licence.
Additional Information
- Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour
- Working Hours: 12-hour shifts, averaging 2 shifts per week (schedule to be discussed during the interview).
