Job Title: Bank Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Support Workers. In this role, you will provide direct care and support to children and vulnerable adults living in residential homes. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for improving the lives of children and vulnerable adults, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Direct Care and Support:

  • Provide emotional and practical support in residential homes, ensuring the well-being and safety of residents.

  • Assist with daily living activities, including mealtime assistance, hygiene routines, and recreational activities.

2. Individualised Care:

  • Work collaboratively with the care team to implement care plans tailored to each individual, addressing their unique needs and preferences.

  • Create a positive and inclusive environment that promotes the social, emotional, and educational development of the residents.

3. Crisis Intervention:

  • Effectively manage and de-escalate challenging situations, providing crisis intervention when necessary.

  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement behaviour management strategies.

4. Communication and Documentation:

  • Maintain clear and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and external professionals to ensure continuity of care.

5. Collaboration with External Agencies:

  • Work closely with social workers, therapists, and other external agencies to provide comprehensive support to residents.

  • Attend and actively participate in reviews and meetings as required.

6. Promote Independence:

  • Encourage and support the development of life skills and independence in children and vulnerable adults, considering their age and abilities.

  • Provide guidance and encouragement for educational and recreational activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a residential care setting is preferred.

  • Must be qualified or working towards a qualification; the minimum educational requirement is a High School Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing circumstances.

  • A commitment to the well-being and development of children and vulnerable adults.

Working Hours:

  • Day shifts (07:00 - 23:00)

  • Sleep-ins (paid)

  • Weekends and bank holidays

  • Rota-based work

Location:

West Midlands

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £11.50 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift

Education:

  • A-Level or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

  • Residential Care: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (required)
