We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Chef, an individual with aspirations to move forward in their career and build a brand within ours. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about collaborating with a creative team, dedicated to using fresh produce from our garden, and committed to championing local suppliers. This role involves working alongside our head chef to develop and deliver creative menus, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in Menu Planning :
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create and update the menu.
- Ensure the dishes meet quality and presentation standards.
- Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Help with food prep, cooking, and ensuring dishes are prepared according to specifications.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and consistency.
- Inventory & Ordering:
- Assist with inventory management, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Help place orders for supplies and ingredients, ensuring they meet quality and budget standards.
- Quality Control :
- Ensure food is cooked to order and meets the restaurant’s standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
- Inspect food before and after it is served to ensure it meets quality standards.
- Kitchen Operations :
- Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized at all times.
- Maintain efficient kitchen workflows and manage time during high-pressure service periods.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns related to food.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that the kitchen follows all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor food safety and cleanliness, ensuring safe food handling practices.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Act as the head of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Foster a positive working environment and team communication.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Proven experience in a similar role, 3-5 years.
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
Physical Demands :
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of working in a busy kitchen environment.
