Get Golfing CIO is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Starter/Marshall to join our team at Redlibbets Golf Club. As a charity supporting struggling golf facilities in England, our mission is to preserve and revive the sport by offering exceptional experiences for our members and visitors. With twelve sites across the country, we attract over 160,000 unique visitors each year and have a membership base of 6,000 individuals. With annual revenues of approximately £17 million, we are able to reinvest our surpluses back into our venues, staff development, and community initiatives.
As a Starter/Marshall at Get Golfing CIO, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless golfing experience for our members and guests. You will be responsible for managing the flow of play, enforcing course policies, and providing friendly assistance and guidance to players. Your excellent communication skills, knowledge of golf etiquette, and ability to effectively handle situations will contribute to the overall satisfaction of our customers.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in players, providing them with necessary information and instructions to ensure a smooth start to their game.
- Monitor the pace of play and enforce course policies to maintain a steady flow of play and ensure an enjoyable experience for all golfers.
- Assist with organising and coordinating tee times, ensuring efficiency and minimising wait times.
- Maintain accurate records of golfer traffic, collecting data on peak hours and resolving any issues that arise.
- Assist with monitoring weather conditions and implementing necessary safety precautions.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions, providing directions, and offering assistance as needed.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively handle various customer situations.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, and to resolve conflicts diplomatically.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities to effectively manage tee times and ensure smooth course flow.
- A proactive and friendly attitude, with a genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
