As a technical partner, you will provide essential assurance to the Project Manager that throughout the delivery of a contract (bidding and closure too) that outputs are fit for purpose.

You will:

  • Provide the Project Manager (PM) sufficient and appropriate independent review (that is commensurate with the risk and complexity of the project) of the supplier’s project design and proposed review points
  • Review supplier outputs (in accordance with the contract) and providing assurance throughout the project e.g. from the initial planning, through execution and project closure.
  • Escalate any concerns as required to the Project Manager and/or Technical Lead

Person specification

You will bring:

  • Experience of working within engineering or computer science/cyber areas where you have overseen technical work of others?
  • Effective communication skills
  • Understanding of contracts and commercial

Our work in defence, security and intelligence requires our employees to be UK Nationals who are able to gain a high level of security clearance to undertake the projects we are involved in to protect us from security threats. This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.

  • Family: Maternity, adoption or shared parental leave of up to 26 weeks with full pay, an additional 13 weeks statutory pay and a further 13 weeks unpaid
  • Learning and Development: Dstl encourages and supports charterships, accreditations and provides employees access to fully funded apprenticeships up to level 7 (Masters Degree). Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles , and will assess your Behaviours and Experience.

At the Sift application stage we will be assessing the Personal Statement and CV

The interview will consist of a combined Behavioural and Technical interview.

  • At the interview stage we will be asking you to expand on your technical background to ensure appropriate depth against level criteria
  • You will be asked to do a 10 minute presentation on ‘A technical project that you are proud of’

Sifting will take place week commencing the 10th March 2025 with interviews to be arranged from the 24th March 2025
