We are looking for inspirational and engaging Maths Lead who shares their commitment and vision in providing an ambitious, therapeutic, person-centred learning environment for students.
Following the success and local demand for our services, we are delighted to announce that we have opened a secondary SEN school located in Newbury, West Berkshire, you will join us within Amegreen Education , which encompasses our Alternative Learning Farm provisions situated across rural West Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
Across our network of Alternative learning provisions, Therapy Centre and Children’s homes, our dedicated and experienced school staff work in collaboration with specialist teams of professionals to enable every young person to explore and develop their own unique talents. We enable possibilities and opportunities through our variety of services along with the stability of a school placement.
The role:
- Have previous experience teaching and leading Maths in an SEN secondary school.
- Take lead responsibility for an area of the curriculum within a school, supporting the SLT in curriculum design and qualifications and the line management of staff in your curriculum area.
- Embed the teaching of reading, writing and communication, throughout the curriculum.
- Understand the SEN Code of Practice for identification and assessment of Special Educational Needs
- Work collaboratively with all staff, pastoral staff and the multi-agency teams to promote high expectations for attendance
- To be inspired by the schools already built culture based on the Thrive model and the trauma informed approach using PACE.
- To support joined up working between Stable Futures and the Paddocks who facilitate some aspects of the agreed personal development scheme of work.
- To support the implementation of weekly personal development sessions.
- Support all students to become confident, self-assured learners with excellent attitudes to learning which has a strong, positive impact on their progress and who are well equipped for the next stage in their education, training or employment.
- Undertake the role and responsibilities of a Tutor and be the first point of contact for parents/carers of students in the Tutor Group.
- To work collaboratively with the therapeutic team to provide bespoke support based on children’s needs and trends.
