Sherfield School are looking to for a Facilities Assistant to join our friendly helpful team in a beautiful setting on the Hampshire/Berkshire border to start as soon as possible. Set in 75 acres of grounds, Sherfield School has a forward thinking educational vision, a growing Sixth Form, impressive examination results and an ambitious development programme.
Working in the Facilities team you will support the Head of Facilities and Estates with day to day maintenance to ensure that the school site is kept up to the highest standards. The Facilities Assistant will undertake a full caretaking, repair, portering and administrative service within the growing team. The candidate must be able to multi-task, have a positive attitude and a commitment to maintaining procedure and the school to the highest standard.
The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of general building and maintenance work. You will be working within a multi-disciplined environment and will ideally have experience of a trade or DIY skills.
This is a permanent full time post, working 5 days per week, requiring occasional out of hours call-out work and some weekend work (arranged in advance as overtime/TOIL). A certain amount of flexibility is needed particularly where seasonal peaks in the school calendar have an impact on the complexity of site use.
