We are looking for an enthusiatic, driven, technically-minded professional who will help to drive OnlyCat to capture the market for AI cat flaps with prey detection.

OnlyCat started out of a home prototype. Around 2-years ago, we decided to commit the time and effort to develop OnlyCat into a high-tech, high-quality consumer product. In October 2022 we launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo; which as of now has raised in excess of $200k in preorders, equating to ~450 cat flaps. Our cat flap is the best in its class (and in the world), and we are looking for someone who can help develop OnlyCat into a thriving business.

This is a unique opportunity to get involved at an early stage, with the possibility of becoming an integral and vital part of a business, being instrumental to its future success, with the potential of establishing and managing a team as the company scales.

The ideal partner is someone who can support in a wide variety of tasks, potentially including:

• project management.
• product improvement - mechanical/electronics design.
• manufacturing supply chain establishment.
• distribution supply chain establishment.
• liaising with pre-order backers and providing customer support.
• development of marketing and advertising material.
• business development.

We are ideally looking for a candidate who will be working alongside the two founders in the following areas:

• Project management. Helping to drive any and all aspects of the business depending on what is required at a given time - from design, through to assembly, customer support, production, marketing, distribution, and business development.
• Product design refinement. Depending on personal experience; the team member should help to iterate and improve the product design in terms of mechanical and/or electronics design; with the potential to develop further versions of OnlyCat in the future.
• Establishing manufacturing and distribution supply chains. We are now at the stage of manufacturing, and on the verge of assembling, the first few hundred units. We are looking for someone who can support in supply chain establishment such as to automate the production of OnlyCat. This will involve researching potential supply chain partners, driving communications, and establishment of production and logistics chains - with global distribution.
• Product assembly of the first few hundred units (as a team). This will be an important stepping stone to automating production; involving analysing the design and assembly procedure for potential improvements for volume production and quality control.
• Develop and maintain positive customer and community support. An important part of operations will include learning the functionality of the product and supporting backers/customers with a variety of questions: from technical through to deliveries. In addition, it is envisaged that the team member will support with elaboration of installation manuals and user guides.
• Business development. From website improvement, through to creation of marketing materials (videos, social media posts and ads), establishment of distribution channels (Amazon, pet stores… etc); there is a unique opportunity to help scale OnlyCat into a global business.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, electronics, mechatronics, embedded systems, product engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, the OnlyCat community, the team, as well as logistics, manufacturing and distribution partners.

Pay: £16,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
