The purpose of this role

To work with the Lead Graphic Designer to produce design across the full range of digital and print channels, for internal and external audiences.

We are looking for an experienced graphic designer with the creativity and drive to join a small, highly creative team, providing design that adds impact to the work of Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service.

You will hold a degree or equivalent qualifications in graphic design and have professional experience that you can evidence by a great portfolio of current work. If you are selected for interview, we will ask to see your portfolio and to carry out a short design task.

You will be working across internal and external audiences, producing work for use across all digital and print channels. Your work will help to add impact to our strategic communications with the public, and with the staff of all three organisations.

You will work with the Lead Graphic Designer to promote and maintain our visual identity and clear communications - because it has an enormous impact on the trust and confidence of the public in the messages they receive from us.

Recruitment and Selection Policy

Internal applicants who are at risk of redundancy or in need of redeployment and pass the selection process, will be offered the role over the remaining internal and external applicants.

Internal applicants must have line manager support prior to proceeding with an application.

Please be aware that the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and Northamptonshire Police are separate employers. Although Police internal vacancies are open to OPFCC staff and vice versa, if you are successful, the change of employer will require a longer onboarding process and you will receive a new contract and payroll number. Service with either employer can be carried over as continuous service.

Police Barred and Advisory lists

Individuals placed on the Police Barred and Advisory lists will not be considered for employment by the Police and OPFCC for a minimum of 5 years from the date of listing in the case of gross misconduct, or 3 years from the date of listing in the case of poor performance.
