Project Manager - Marketing / Communications
Location: Reading

Manage the operational aspects of projects and programs. Will ensure that all project work is completed in accordance with SOPs, policies and practices.

Essential Functions

  • Create, track and report on project timelines
  • Produce and distribute status, tracking and financial reports for internal and external team members and senior management.
  • Responsibility for financial reporting on the project including tracking deliverables and invoicing
  • May participate in proposal development and sales/proposal presentations.
  • Monitor and coordinate efforts of cross-functional project teams and project resources within and outside the organization.
  • Meet with team members on a regular basis regarding project tasks to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Lead problem solving and resolution efforts.
  • Manage project budgets and approval of invoices.
  • Produce and distribute reports and presentation materials.
  • Provide input into project proposals and RFPs
  • Train and mentor junior Project Manager staff.
  • Partner with other Project Managers to develop and implement process improvements
  • Prepare and present project information at internal and external meetings.
  • Ensure that work is conducted in compliance with standard processes, policies and procedures and meets project timeline metrics.

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to oversee the management of medical affairs communications projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project managing a range of evidence-based medical affairs projects aligned with global strategies. This role involves coordinating with various teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality publications and materials, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a range of evidence-based medical affairs projects, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, patient support programs, advisory boards, and the preparation of marketing materials.
  • Lead departmental and cross-functional projects, driving collaboration, strategic planning, and successful execution to achieve project objectives efficiently.
  • Engage with diverse teams, collaborate with innovative external contractors, and liaise with key internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Ensure clear and precise information exchange to facilitate collaboration and achieve objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with ABPI Code, ensuring ethical pharmaceutical practices, high standards, and fostering trust in all interactions and communications.
  • Manage budgets for medical affairs communications projects, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Identify and mitigate risks specific to pharmaceutical projects, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Ensure projects and materials meet stringent quality standards.
  • Manage timelines for medical affairs projects, meeting congress deadlines, and factoring in medical, legal, and regulatory approvals.
  • Meet with team members on a regular basis regarding project tasks to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Manage project budgets and approval of invoices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in medical affairs project management, preferably in a pharmaceutical role.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timeline metrics
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or medical communications.
  • Knowledge of ABPI Code and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet
