We are now looking for a Product Owner to join our London office.

You will help drive and shape the future development of projects in line with the overall goals of the business within the Tools & Utilities stream. Tools & Utilities covers numerous products with a heavy focus on finance and compliance. Building relationships with stakeholders, to ensure you understand the customer needs which must align with the product and engineering teams to ensure the business goals, vision are met.

You will be providing product management, analysis work relating to business/systems requirements on existing systems for various departments, alongside some project management. This may include some application support, testing and training on the solutions developed in-house or externally.

What you’ll be doing

Financial Platform Management

  • Partnering with key stakeholders within Finance and KYC to optimise deal booking and invoicing systems through defining business rules, workflows and automation requirements.
  • Ensuring financial data accuracy through solution and aligning with accounting/reporting needs.

KYC/Sanctions Compliance

  • Collaborate with compliance teams to enhance sanctions screening and due diligence processes.
  • Ensure compliance tools align with evolving regulations (e.g. AML, OFAC, EU sanctions).

Other key elements to the role

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Compliance and Commercial teams) to analyse information needs and functional requirements and deliver any artefacts as needed, including user stories, change requests, and mock-up of screen designs.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team in determining and maintaining the product delivery roadmap.
  • Competent in handling multiple products/features at any point in time.
  • Effectively manage and prioritise own workload, providing regular status updates as required. Where required, plan and participate in system testing activity and user training.
  • Continuous monitoring of the product and platform, tracking and reviewing metrics to ensure delivery is being met.
  • Manage requirements at all stages of refinement so there is no delay to the development team in receiving sufficient clarity to deliver fit and functional features.
  • Become the subject matter expert within the products domain and act when required.
  • Provide guidance to others for the completion of support documentation, including user help documentation, guides and manuals and updates to the internal applications.
  • Working with external vendors for third party compliance tools when required.

Other requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in Regulatory/Finance/Compliance BA/PM roles which cover the full project lifecycle
  • Experience of working with financial regulations (i.e. AML, FATCA)
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Vast experience in business analysis/product ownership, including ability to champion product and UX
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and good attention to detail in both analysis and written.
  • Good understanding of agile product development best practices
  • Strong business sense - we are building a true end-to-end solution, collaborating with other teams and the ability to identify and leverage features across the platform is key, as well as articulating the business value of such changes.
  • Background within the shipping industry, commodities training or maritime finance is a bonus.
