Working with some of the Uk’s most well-known interior designers; our high-end, bespoke upholstery workshop is looking for someone to work as a Production Manager and Upholsterer who has the skills set and the willing to join a very experienced team and carry out a variety of tasks;

The ideal candidate is:

  • able to demonstrate skills in all areas of upholstery (ideally traditional and modern)

  • reliable and punctual

  • willing and able to work on his/her own as well as part of a team

  • own transport essential

  • able to demonstrate some design ability and initiative

  • happy to do some site work

There is plenty of scope to develop and be a part of a burgeoning industry full of variety and challenge.

This company is taking on more diverse projects and the demand is expanding into all areas of soft furnishings, complete fit-outs, refurbishments and design.

Summary

In the role of Production Manager and upholsterer, you will oversee the fabrication process, ensuring high-quality production standards are met. Reporting to the Operations Manager, your core skills in fabrication will be complemented by your mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand and power tools. You will also utilize your sewing expertise to enhance production efficiency. Your relevant experience in workshop operations, heavy lifting, and assembly will be essential in managing workflows and optimizing team performance. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the fabrication process, ensuring quality and efficiency in production.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge and hand tools to assemble products accurately.
  • Operate power tools safely while adhering to safety standards.
  • Manage workshop operations, including inventory control and heavy lifting tasks.
  • Train and supervise team members in assembly techniques and equipment usage.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet production deadlines and resolve issues.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £39,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

  • Tunbridge Wells, TN12 8ED: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
