The Role

As a member of the CoMind Software Team, you will be actively involved in the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), focusing on the GUI development for products and internal tools. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Software Engineers, Data Science/ML Engineers, Systems Engineers, and the QARA team, to develop safe and reliable medical devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Software Development: Design and develop the GUI software for medical devices while ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 14971, IEC 62366, ISO 13485, and FDA regulations, including cybersecurity requirements
  • Implementation & Compliance: Develop software solutions and support cross-functional development activities, ensuring adherence to all phases of design control, including requirements definition, design documentation, risk analysis, implementation, code reviews, and integration testing
  • Software Maintenance: Maintain and update software for safety-critical systems
  • Process Improvement: Actively contribute to Lean/Agile initiatives
  • Collaboration & Troubleshooting: Work closely with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in GUI software development
  • Programming Skills: proficiency in one or more of: JavaScript, Python, C/C++, C, Java, HTML
  • Industry Background: Experience in developing GUIs for devices, preferably within the medical or other regulated industries
  • Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of UX/UI principles, hands-on experience with GUI frameworks (e.g. Qt), working with wireframes, cross-platform development, and performance optimization
  • Development Approach: Familiarity with agile methodologies and best practices in software development
  • Tools & Practices: Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket), debugging tools, CI/CD pipelines, and experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
