Overall Purpose of the role

To support the kitchen team to ensure they have all fresh ingredients and clean equipment available in order for them to meet orders.

Responsible for supporting the smooth running of the kitchen function whilst maintaining high standards with regard quality and health and safety.

Principal Accountabilities

• Responsible for supporting the team of Chefs with food preparation.
• Overall responsibility of managing the ‘wash-up’ section of the kitchen.
• Checking and accepting deliveries.
• Accurately packing of food in preparation for delivery.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the department, kitchen, equipment, storage etc.
• Must demonstrate a professional and ‘can do’ attitude.
• Have the ability to work on own initiative but also take direction from other team members.
• Carry out any reasonable request as directed by Management.
• Assist with management of stock. Recording stock coming onto site and leaving site on a weekly basis.
• Monitor waste within the kitchen.
• A good awareness of food safety and hygiene including certification.
• Any other tasks as requested by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.

Person Specification

• Clean driving licence - for insurance purposes, if possible.
• Self-motivated, reliable, ability to use initiative and work well under a degree of pressure.
• Food safety/Food hygiene qualification
