Reporting To: Senior Quantity Surveyor / QS Manager

Job Summary:

We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. As a Junior QS, you will assist in preparing, managing, and controlling project costs, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and in line with contractual obligations. You will have the opportunity to work closely with senior team members on various exciting construction projects, developing your skills and knowledge in quantity surveying.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans for construction projects.
  • Support the Senior QS in preparing and reviewing tender documentation, contracts, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and costs.
  • Assist with measuring and valuing work completed on-site, ensuring accurate reporting for payment purposes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of costs, contracts, and variations.
  • Contribute to the procurement process, including selecting and managing subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in the preparation of interim and final accounts.
  • Collaborate with the project team daily
  • Support the Senior QS in tracking project performance and identifying areas for cost improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Some experience in quantity surveying or construction (student placements are acceptable).
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop professionally.
