We are looking for an experienced and motivated Workshop Forman / Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Workshop Forman / Engineer to oversee the daily operations of our workshop, ensuring the efficient maintenance, repair, and servicing of pumps. As the Workshop Forman / Engineer , you will be responsible for managing workflows, and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities in the workshop.
  • Manage pump maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  • Ensure all repair and maintenance work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist with diagnosing and resolving complex pump-related issues.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure the availability of required parts and equipment.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure efficient workshop operations and meet project deadlines.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Control the issue and return of power tools to engineers.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of workshop equipment and tools.
  • Occasional attendance to site to remove or re-install repaired pumps / fans / motors

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in pump maintenance, repair, or a similar mechanical field.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of rotating equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Good organisational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Driving licence (essential)
  • Counterbalance forklift license (preferable)
