The Role

The key aspect of the role is to take accountability for all aspects of the food safety, legality, quality and Integrity priorities for our Sofina Cookstown site . To act as the Technical Business Partner with the Head of Operations. Head of Technical -Pork operation and the broader technical department to leverage Technical expertise to deliver the sites agreed food safety agenda.

Key Accountabilities

  • To act as a professional and trusted advisor to the cluster leadership team on all Food Safety, quality and Technical matters relating to the site
  • The application of financial rigor to all Technical activity to ensure value for money for the business.
  • Set and deliver Technical goals, collaborating across teams and sites.
  • Leading customer & 3rd party certification audits, supporting customer UK and overseas supplier visits and ensuring strong relationships with customers are achieved.
  • Aligning systems and processes across the cluster and promoting best practice within the business.
  • To liaise with HR & L&D Departments to ensure a robust succession, talent, training and development process is embedded for the site.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Level 4 Food Hygiene (or equivalent)
  • Advanced HACCP (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of Technical leadership experience; with exposure to FMCG environments, retailer audit standards and being ‘audit ready’.
  • Experience of working in fresh meat and chilled environments
  • Knowledge of food safety law and labelling laws.
  • Knowledge of exporting legislation.
  • Evident confidence in presentation, communication and negotiating with professional peer groups.
  • Ability to lead audits and ensure delegated Managers are able to lead also.
