Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our service and solutions teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation and commissioning of control systems used in the dust and fume extraction industry. This role requires a strong foundation in both electrical and mechanical engineering principles, as well as experience in programming PLCs.

Duties

  • Installation and commissioning of control systems used in the dust and fume extraction industry.
  • Provide first line call out and service support for Nederman’s customers.
  • Routine planned servicing to products within Nederman’s digital portfolio, or similar.
  • Undertake health checks on existing digital, electronic and electrical installations.
  • Undertake electrical installations.
  • Commission electrical installations with support from an LEV engineer to take measurements.
  • Attend to breakdown on our digital products and other electronic/electrical issues.
  • Undertake and assist with site surveys

Skills

  • Solid and natural aptitude for engineering processes
  • Proven track record in field service activities
  • Familiar with industrial control systems
  • Can program PLCs
  • Experience working with HMI products
  • Experience working with automation
  • Profibus, Profinet and BACnet knowledge preferred.
  • Conversant with inverters and their configuration, setting and programming.
  • Electronic and Electrical competence (formal qualifications to support)
  • Experience working in the dust and fume/ wood manufacturing industries would be advantageous
  • Experience of LEV testing an advantage
  • Electrical qualifications and experience an advantage

Based in the UK, this role will involve travel around the UK and possibly internationally.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
