We love proper fresh, proper tasty food so our products and menus use fresh and where possible and practical; local, Scottish or British sourced ingredients. Oh and we make awesome pies too! We’re looking for a friendly, capable and reliable chef or cook to join our small award winning business and hard working friendly team for the summer season.

This position is suitable for someone either wanting to work freelance or on a temporary seasonal contact for a busy summer season. Those applying should have the minimal experience of working 1-2 years within a catering company or professional kitchens or bakeries. Chefs or cooks should be proficient in cooking and baking, have the highest of food safety & hygiene standards, already hold up to date food safety certification and ideally basic professional cookery or bakery qualifications. Applicants should have their own knives, know their way around a kitchen, be punctual, efficient, productive and professional and take pride in consistency and quality of their work and not be afraid to get their hands dirty.

This is not a supervisory position and there will be times when you may need to work on your own or with the team so energy and enthusiasm for the job is essential. We’re looking for a person who loves food, who finds cooking makes them happy, who takes pride in a job well done and is willing to put in the effort and dedication with the support of their team and employer to succeed in cooking great food and providing exceptional customer experiences for our customers .

This is a really exciting opportunity to become a valued member of our team. We want you to use your passion, skills, knowledge and technical skills for the preparation of ingredients for making bread, cakes, pastries and pies, lots of pies; also for cooking at events, or on the food trailer, or function catering and private dining! Setting up, opening up, closing down, packing, washing up, cleaning, stock rotation, attending events, farmers markets and festivals; and making our award winning pies, are part and parcel of working with WEECOOK.

The main location of work is at our WEECOOK HQ in Arbroath, we also have catering event and markets stalls at various locations throughout Tayside and central belt and further afield.

Successful applicants will be invited to a telephone interview and a trial shift.
