We are looking for a Software Product Owner to join our team. Your role will involve regular interaction with partners to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure agreement and execution against product goals. You will prioritise and maintain the product backlog, write clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria, and participate in sprint planning and review sessions. Additionally, you will notify partners of story commencement and completion to ensure understanding throughout the sprint.

This is a hybrid working position reporting to the Chief Product Officer for EMS

Required Skills: You understand the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies. You will use structured methodologies to manage new software products, create functional Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), and conduct functional acceptance tests. You will be an expert at translating client requirements into technical language and collaborating with team members to achieve sprint goals. You will also assist the sales team in addressing customer needs and maintaining technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with partners, including customers, business teams, and developers, to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure agreement on the product’s goals and priorities.
  • Prioritise and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects the product and market requirements, is aligned with the product vision, and is ready for the development team to work on.
  • Write concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria, ensuring that the development team understands the scope and expectations of each feature or enhancement. Participating in the sprint planning sessions to ensure that the team understands priories and goals for the sprint. Additionally, reviewing completed work at the end of each sprint to ensure it meets the product’s requirements and goals.
  • Notify partners when stories commence and are completed, ensuring agreement at the start and end of each sprint.

Main Competencies

Knowledge of software development lifecycle;

  • Use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new software products to the marketplace.
  • Explain phases, activities, dependencies, deliverables, and decisions. Interpret product development plans and functional documentation.
  • Participate in creating the functional Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).
  • Explain all major product functions in detail using appropriate business language.
  • Assist the sales team in addressing customer needs; assist with sales materials.
  • Maintain knowledge of market leading software development principals and tools, including AI and ML to lead business efficiencies and improved product deliverables.

Agile Methodologies and Requirements

  • Apply Agile methods in any product delivery.
  • Respond to fast-changing clients’ requirements; translate the requirements into technical language.
  • Participate in regular meetings to report stage results and adjust goals for the next sprint.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete stage development goals within limited time.
  • Work with standards for determining functional and informational requirements.
  • Confirm deliverables associated with requirements analysis.
  • Communicate with customers and users to elicit and gather client requirements.
  • Help prepare detailed documentation and requirements.

Qualifications

  • Past Product Owner role experience with at a specialism in software products
