We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager to join an expanding organic food company in Devon.
The ideal candidate will have a great attitude with excellent administrative, communication skills, attention to detail, with internal auditing and risk assessment experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Must have experience of leading up BRC audits, customer audits and the HACCP team.
- Maintaining a filing system that complies with BRC audit requirements;
- Must be competent with any technical enquiries, customer complaints, non-conformance reports and root cause analysis;
- Managing and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers and dealing with any technical queries raised.
- Must hold a minimum of level 4 in Food safety for manufacturing, Level 3 in HACCP and preferably auditing qualifications.
- Experience in completing both the companies own product specifications and customer specifications.
- Must be able to originate packaging information to include ingredients listing, nutritional and allergen information.
- Good knowledge of quality systems and microbiological quality standards for food is essential.
- Must be able to competently carry out internal audits on the company’s quality systems.
- Knowledge of Organic Food Manufacturing would be an advantage.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred IE (BRC implementation and Soil Association accreditation.
- Minimum Level 4 Food Safety for manufacturing and Level 3 HACCP Certification;
- Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines;
- Excellent IT skills including, Word, Excel and email;
- Good English and numerical skills;
- Strong organisational and decision-making skills;
- A positive, confident and proactive approach;
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Good communication skills
- A good sense of humour 😃
