We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager to join an expanding organic food company in Devon.

The ideal candidate will have a great attitude with excellent administrative, communication skills, attention to detail, with internal auditing and risk assessment experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Must have experience of leading up BRC audits, customer audits and the HACCP team.
• Maintaining a filing system that complies with BRC audit requirements;
• Must be competent with any technical enquiries, customer complaints, non-conformance reports and root cause analysis;
• Managing and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers and dealing with any technical queries raised.
• Must hold a minimum of level 4 in Food safety for manufacturing, Level 3 in HACCP and preferably auditing qualifications.
• Experience in completing both the companies own product specifications and customer specifications.
• Must be able to originate packaging information to include ingredients listing, nutritional and allergen information.
• Good knowledge of quality systems and microbiological quality standards for food is essential.
• Must be able to competently carry out internal audits on the company’s quality systems.
• Knowledge of Organic Food Manufacturing would be an advantage.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred IE (BRC implementation and Soil Association accreditation.
• Minimum Level 4 Food Safety for manufacturing and Level 3 HACCP Certification;
• Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines;
• Excellent IT skills including, Word, Excel and email;
• Good English and numerical skills;
• Strong organisational and decision-making skills;
• A positive, confident and proactive approach;
• Ability to use own initiative.
• Good communication skills
• A good sense of humour 😃
